The selection for RRB JE Recruitment 2026 consists of four distinct stages:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT-I): Screening test comprising 100 objective-type questions.

• Junior Engineer (JE): Responsible for track maintenance, bridge inspections, electrical power supply systems, signaling and telecommunication infrastructure, locomotive repairs, and rolling stock overhaul depending on the assigned branch.

• Posting Location: Appointed candidates will be posted in divisions, workshops, or manufacturing units under their chosen Zonal Railway or Production Unit.
• Transfer Policy: Railway servants are ordinarily required to serve in the posted unit. Requests for inter-railway transfer will not be registered until the employee completes a minimum of 5 to 10 years of continuous service.

Medical Fitness Standards

• A-3 Standard: Physically fit in all respects. Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/9 with or without glasses (power <= 2D). Candidates who have undergone LASIK or refractory surgeries are ineligible for A-3 posts.
• B-1 Standard: Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power <= 4D). LASIK surgery candidates are permissible under strict criteria (surgery at least 1 year old, residual corneal thickness >= 425 microns, normal fundus).
• C-1 Standard: Distance Vision: 6/12, 6/18 with or without glasses.

Normalization & Merit Index

For multi-session exams, raw marks will be converted to normalized marks. A normalized Merit Index formula will be used to benchmark candidates across different technical exam groups for common post selection.

Scribe Guidelines
