UR / OBC-NCL / EWS Candidates: Minimum 70% aggregate marks across all semesters/years combined.

Calculation Rule: Marks from all semesters/years are summed up to calculate aggregate percentage. No rounding off or differential semester weightage is allowed. CGPA to percentage conversion must strictly follow university/institute norms with an official certificate submitted during document verification.

Upper Age Limit: 28 years as on 14 August 2026 for UR and EWS candidates.

SC / ST Candidates: Upper age limit relaxable by 5 years (up to 33 years).

OBC-NCL Candidates: Upper age limit relaxable by 3 years (up to 31 years).

PwBD Candidates: Upper age limit relaxable by 10 years (cumulative over SC/ST/OBC relaxation where applicable).

Medical Standards: Provisionally selected candidates must pass a Pre-Employment Medical Examination conducted by HAL Medical Board/Doctors before appointment.

Selected candidates must execute a Service Agreement Bond to serve HAL for 5 years after successful completion of the 52-week training period. In case of breach, candidates must reimburse training and recruitment expenses up to a maximum cap of ₹15,00,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Lakhs).

Selection Process

1 Online Computer Based Selection Test (CBT): An All-India CBT of 2.5 hours duration (160 MCQs) covering General Awareness, English & Reasoning, and Discipline Knowledge.
2 Shortlisting for Personal Interview: Candidates are shortlisted discipline-wise and category-wise based on CBT merit scores in a 1:5 ratio against notified vacancies.
3 Personal Interview: Conducted offline at HAL facilities in Bengaluru.
4 Final Merit Preparation: Combined score prepared by assigning 85% weightage to the Online CBT and 15% weightage to the Personal Interview.
5 Qualifying Marks Benchmark: Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in the Written Test and 50% marks in the Personal Interview individually to qualify for final selection (relaxations applicable to reserved categories as per rules).
